In Year 3, my teacher ripped up my work in front of the class.
In Year 6, my teacher told me I'd never make anything of myself.
Those moments stuck. And no matter how much I've achieved since — that self-doubt still lingers.
So when I meet a child who's gone quiet… who avoids writing… who shrinks away from challenge...
I don't just understand.
I remember.
Because I was that child too.
Horses saved me. Being in school, growing up, chipped away at my confidence - but horses built it back up.
Around horses, I found my calm. My joy. My courage.
I learned how to face fear gently. How to trust myself again. And how to help others do the same.
I got my first horse at 10. We didn't have it easy. However, I realised even in my teens, I had a gift. I was the one who turned scary moments into games for younger riders, who had become frozen in fear. I loved seeing children laughing again, back on their ponies having great fun!
It was never really about horses. It was about believing in someone until they believe in themselves.
What I Do Today?
I took that passion for teaching and studied at the University of Brighton to become a qualified teacher, now I tutor full-time helping stop more children being left behind.

🐎 I still love horses more than anything - they healed me, taught me how to teach and provide an escape.
🎾 My husband and I attempt to play ping pong and tennis, mostly for the fun and fresh air, but its a time of laughter.
