Hey lovely parents! 👋
I’m Zara — the tutor children warm to instantly and the grown-up who still doodles in meetings because sitting still is not my natural state.
I trained as a primary teacher at the University of Brighton (best years, despite the million of seagulls who always seemed to taunt me), taught in several schools, and very quickly learned something important:
I’m not built for stiff, rule-heavy teaching.
I’m built for curiosity, silliness, creativity, and helping children feel good about themselves again.
On day one of my very first placement, I was asked, “Who are the customers?”
I proudly said, “The kids!”
Wrong answer, apparently.
But honestly? I still stand by it.
Children are my priority — their confidence, their spark, their joy. That’s who I show up for.
Over the years I’ve realised something else:
I’m not the tutor for pushing children past their limits or racing them ahead for the sake of it.
I’m the tutor for the child who’s lost confidence, fallen behind, or no longer believes they’re “good at learning”.
Those are my people.
And watching them go from anxious to “I can actually do this!” is what I live for.
My sessions are relaxed, warm, pressure-free, and full of laughs.
If I’m bored, your child is definitely bored - and trust me, I get bored fast.
So we move, we play, we build stories, we solve puzzles, we use our imagination… learning sneaks in while we’re having fun.
And when I’m not tutoring?
You’ll probably find me outside somewhere, usually with horses (I’ve broken enough bones to qualify as a walking caution sign, but still obsessed). Being around them is my therapy — everything else fades away.
I’m here to help your child enjoy learning again - not because they “should”, but because they genuinely want to.
Thanks for stopping by.
Zara x
P.S. I have been asked more than once if I'm Zara from the Royal Family - I wish.
So apologies, you're stuck with me, but if you genuinely think your child would thrive with this approach and you want to know more, check out my Tutoring or Learning At Home Page. www.mytutoringforyou.com
